The Ragdoll Breed
The Ragdoll cat breed was established by Ann Baker in California in 1963. Known for their striking blue eyes these pointed cats come in a variety of color bases and feature three main patterns: colorpoint, mitted, and bicolor. At Darling Dollcats, we have primarily focused on breeding Seal and Blue Ragdolls in both mitted and bicolor patterns. Beginning in 2026 we will begin offering other varieties such as lynx, red, cream, and tortie. Currently mink, sepia, and solid colors are not recognized within the Ragdoll breed standard and are became their own breed called Cherubims in 2025. Darling Dollcats breeds only true traditional blue-eyed ragdolls that adhere to the breed standard. We remain dedicated to breeding healthy and beautiful, sweet-tempered Ragdolls that meet the standard.
Breed Characteristics
Pet, Show, and Breeding Quality
Each of our kittens are carefully bred to meet the breed standards, showcasing the delightful characteristics of the Ragdoll breed. Though some may display minor imperfections or variations in their coats. They all have been nurtured with love and care, ensuring a sweet and well-socialized temperament. From time to time, we may have outstanding kittens that exceed the standard; these may be reserved for showing or breeding and may be reserved for our breeding program or catteries that share our strong ethical values.

Coats and Patterns at Darling Dollcats
Here at the Dollcats Ragdoll breeding program we have focused on Seal and Blue coat colors, featuring exquisite mitted and bicolor patterns. Our Seal coats display gorgeous black and brown tones, while the Blue coats exhibit sophisticated gray hues. The bicolor pattern includes a lovely white upside-down "V" across the face, and mitted cats are adorned with charming white mitted paws and chin and a dramatic blooming of color across their face starting with their nose as a focal point. Both patterns display pointed traits including colored ears and tail, and shading up the limbs. Starting in 2026 we will begin offering lynx variation in both of these colors in patterns adding additional variety. Lynx is faint striping throughout the colored points. In addition to lynx we will begin offering the new color varieties of red, cream, and tortie as well.
